Citizens of Humanity is a denim brand that I have some what of an obsession with. I’ve been a fan of the brand for many years, namely when they introduced their Avedon fit and then their famous Rocket, which is the cut that I adore!
I’m really excited to be able to share with you the new Citizens of Humanity Holiday 2014 collection, featuring 6 key styles! It was shot by photographer Rafael Pulido, styled by Brylie Fowler and the gorgeous model was Constanza Saravia.
I’m sure you have noticed by now that I like to make things unique and personal here on The Jeans Blog, so not only am I showing you the new Look Book images, I’ve also spoken with Catherine Ryu, the brands creative director, to see what her top three picks are from the coming season! You can see those just below! Isn’t the collection just perfect? I love it! Don’t forget you can shop the new Citizens of Humanity styles online at Shopbop.com.
So here are Catherine Ryu’s top three pieces from the Holiday 2014 collection!
Rocket in Refracted – I love wearing denim for evening, and these high wasted skinny Rockets are perfect for an evening of cocktails. The painterly metallic finish was inspired by the artist Sterling Ruby
Karmen skirt in splattered – A denim pencil skirt is a wardrobe staple, so I wanted to mix up by adding an acid paint splatter on the hem to give a modern twist to a classic. I found this vintage Levi’s jeans with this acid splatter and was compelled to replicate the wash!
Corey in Distressed Signal – We launched our new slouchy slim boyfriend shape the Corey for SP’15 and it has been hugely successful. For Holiday I wanted to offer it in a new way with grey and black options. I love it back to blazers for a evening look.
