Styling Affordable Super Stretch Skinny Jeans For Autumn

When it comes to choosing our denim, there’s a divide between those of us who love the super stretch, comfy jeggings that are oh so popular right now, and those of us who prefer the more classic, rigid denim. I’ve noticed a huge mixture of this in the celebrity world as we’re always seeing the likes of Kendall Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Nicole Richie etc. rocking their vintage Levi’s jeans with 100% cotton, but then we see other celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Garner, Hilary Duff etc. who love the super stretch skinny jeans, so there’s a big divide!

I myself absolutely love super stretch denim and I actually live in it, some of my most stretchy and most comfortable pairs of jeans are my GRLFRND, Hudson, and Citizens of Humanity, however these do come with quite a high price tag and it can be more than you’re willing to pay for a pair of jeans. As much as I love my premium denim and the quality behind it, if you’re looking for something cheaper and short term, it always makes sense to find something a bit more affordable so you can get multiple different pairs, meaning more outfits.

I find super skinny and super stretch jeans to be perfect for the Autumn months when it comes to styling. Since you are layering up with knitwear, scarves, coats, boots, it makes sense for the base of your outfit to be comfortable and free to move around in, so you’re not completed restricted by your denim and your layered pieces. Plus, keeping the jeans close to the legs means the proportions will be perfect as heavy layers up the top can be somewhat overwhelming to your frame, but as long as you can see the shape of your legs with skinny jeans, it balances out quite nicely.

With this in mind, I thought it would be a good idea to choose some affordable super stretch skinny jeans and put together a styling idea, for those of you who don’t want to shell out big bucks for a pair of jeans but still want that look that we all love. I’ve chosen some washed black high waisted jeggings from JD Williams as I think they will make the perfect base for an Autumn inspired outfit. You can always choose blue if you want, but I find that a washed black is incredibly versatile and pairs with absolutely everything, so if you’re only getting one pair, these should be it!

For this outfit, I was inspired by an ensemble that I wear regularly (see below) and think is perfect for the current season. I always start with a base of black skinny jeans, just like the ones I have chosen here, but then I will layer up with a cream cable knit jumper and add on a tan brown coat as it really matches the hues of the Autumn leaves. Now when it comes to accessorising, choosing a pair of brown boots (long or ankle) is ideal to play off the coat, and keeping with the black, brown and white theme, I went for a black tote bag, a tan floppy hat, and a cream scarf. I don’t think you can go wrong with a combination like this and you can pick pieces like this up for a super affordable price too, all while looking chic and put together, so nobody would even know you didn’t shell out big bucks!

Anyway, now you know that you can get comfort and a reasonable price for skinny jeans and you can style them to look classy and fashionable, you can think about other combinations too and select other colours for your denim. Indigo blue works well with blazers and heels, while light blue works well with oversized knits and ankle boots. You can check out more of the denim selection at JD Williams by clicking here.
