Denim bags have been a trend for a while, you might remember my blog post on Jimmy Choo and Designer Bags, as well as Rebecca Minkoff and they’re still a thing! Kate Spade New York is the latest designer to come up with something unique and fun and it’s this gorgeous Thompson Street Bag in Patchwork Denim!
I originally saw it earlier on Shopbop when I was looking at the new in section and thought it was adorable! I’m a huge fan of Kate Spade anyway as she makes really quirky and cute things, but this is both mature and young at the same time, so it caught my eye. We usually see denim bags in the form of cross-body or clutches, but it’s nice to see that tote bags are having their moment too, albeit mini!
So this Kate Spade Thompson Street Bag is 10″ wide, 8″ high, and 5″ in depth, making it a great size! Not too dissimilar to the Celine Nano Luggage actually as that’s 8×8. This one has a 4″ handle and a 19″ – 23″ convertible strap drop. It weights a reasonable 1.50 lbs, has an interior zip, wall and smartphone pockets, protective metal feet and is made of denim with a leather trim.
All of this combined gives it a boho-chic appeal in a boxy, structured mini tote, detailed with gleaming logo embossing. It looks like you can remove the cross-body strap too so you can carry it by the handle. What’s your opinion on it? It does somewhat remind me of the Saint Laurent Sac de Jour as well as it has the same type of design and style. Comment your thoughts!
