Abercrombie Add Size Inclusive Denim For Kids

Abercrombie Launch Size Inclusive Denim For Kids

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has launched a brand new size-inclusive collection for their kids denim line! The brand new 2022 children’s denim collection is now offered in short, regular, and long jeans lengths, which come in sizes 5/6 all the way up to 17/18. That’s not the only thing that’s new though! Each pair of their jeans feature waistband adjusters, so you can make them tighter or looser. I think that’s amazing as we all know how fast children grow up and having to buy new jeans all the time can get expensive!

These new changes came about after the brand collected feedback from more than 1,000 parent, child and employee interviews that were focused on the changes stakeholders wanted to see in the kids’ clothing marketplace, according to Kelly Hall, senior vice president and general manager of Abercrombie kids. This then led them to launch a new kids line that is not subjected to specific heights and weights. I think this is such a great idea! I know I found it hard to find jeans that fitted me when I was a child. I was a little curvier, but still super short, so everything was always too long and my gran would have to tailor it!

“Age is just one factor in finding the right fit, but by introducing multiple lengths, expanding the size range, and including waistband adjusters in every pair, kids can now enjoy the same experience as adults: find a waist size, find a length, and enjoy their comfiest denim fit,” Hall said.

You may remember that Abercrombie & Fitch launched a gender inclusive kids range back in 2018, and they also had a collection called Social Tourist which was gender inclusive for the adults. They’ve definitely come a long way from their very elite image of the past. They’re pushing the boundaries for inclusivity and discrimination more than ever, and it seems to be succeeding as they’re opening more stores and are doing extremely well in terms of sales, in an economy where other companies are struggling.

The brand new Abercrombie & Fitch size inclusive collection for kids is available to buy in store and on their website. It took the company 2 years of production and fit testing, using more than 300 children of all different sizes and ages. I don’t think it gets any better than this for children to shop! Not everyone is the same height and weight just because they’re a specific age, and we don’t all hit puberty at the same time, so I’m actually really excited by this collection. Parents, or younger readers, are you excited?
