Citizens of Humanity Fall 2014 Key Styles & Look Book

Citizens of Humanity is one of my top 3 favourite premium denim brands. It never used to be some years ago, however these past few seasons they have upped their game tremendously and released styles that are nothing short of gorgeous, including their famed Rocket fit which is truly one of the best! Higher rise, super skinny and incredibly stretchy, what more could you need from a jean? I own three pairs in Axel, Black Leatherette and Byron Bay!

The brand new Citizens of Humanity Fall 2014 collection is perfect too! With two clear fashion points of view, the first drawing from the ‘Chelsea Girl’ of East End London in the 1990s with references from the Camden Market, Chelsea boys, and the height of punk, evoking the feel of the birth of street wear with a grounding in blacks and greys. The much-loved Rocket high rise skinny jean in London Calling and Porter washes show the take on the British rise of urban dressing with their grey tones, lived-in distressing, and overall dark street feel.

The Kai pant, thickly coated in black, creates a leather effect on this cool, slouchy, cropped trouser silhouette. Furthermore, an exclusive supima cotton twill fabric is used for the Bree vest and Parka jacket while a vintage dye technique produces a natural sun-bleached effect.

The second viewpoint is inspired by winter in Tibet. Warm knits in neutral colors, the Rocket high rise skinny fits in ombre, faded earth tones and a particular emphasis on the mixing of pattern on pattern and a play on textures with both outerwear separates and bottoms can be seen throughout. I’m incredibly excited about the ombre! It’s a trend that I was always a fan of!
