How amazing are these vintage Levi’s 501 jeans? I found them in Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago in their Urban Renewal section. I always find myself going through the denim there as you can find some of the most gorgeous washes, just like these. As you know, I’m already a huge raw denim fan (and the fact that you get to create your own wash by wearing them in), but that does take time, so one thing I love is seeing how others have worn in their jeans for years and years, all those decades ago. Leaving some of the most beautiful blues behind that I have ever seen.
This pair of Levi’s 501’s in particular have been worn to the extreme and loved by someone who definitely got up to a lot in them. The lap whiskering and the worn out areas around the pocket and thighs just go to show that. They have rips at the butt and in the knees, all of which have been repaired, and the hems have been chopped off to create a more modern look. I always find with vintage Levi’s that even though I am a modern day 26/27 waist, I have to choose a 32 because the sizes were a lot different back then. These are just a touch big, especially in the legs, but I cuff them up and wear them as boyfriend jeans.
As I am a huge denim addict, washes are something that really spark my interest and I’ve found myself staring at these Levi’s jeans for minutes, just analysing all of the details on them and really looking in depth at the wash detailing and how special they truly are. It might sound strange to some of you out there who aren’t as heavily into jeans, but I’m sure a lot of you will know exactly what I’m talking about! These are by far my favourite vintage jeans that I own. I would love to know if you own any and what they look like! Do you have an amazing vintage denim wash? Please do share them with me! These are an amazing pair of Levi’s. You’re right, the wash is beautiful! There is nothing about these that I don’t like, they’re perfect as is. Great post Lorna, 501s rock!

So glad you love them! They really are so pretty!
I hope you don’t mind, but I mentioned in my blog that you found the perfect pair of Levi’s and posted a link to this page so people stumbling across The Denim Dude could come here and check it out. Those jeans are a work of art!

Of course I don’t mind, thank you for including them! That’s very kind of you!
No worries! Question for you, are the jeans comfortable? They look like it, being well broken in. I’ve never tried vintage jeans like that but I am planning on going to some second-hand stores to check things out pretty soon.

They are! They are pretty baggy and loose on me though so that could contribute to the comfort. The denim is broken in, worn down and quite easily pliable now though so it does make a difference! I think if these were skin tight, I wouldn’t find them that comfortable though!
Cool! I’m going to be on the lookout for some vintage Levi’s this next week. You really hit the jackpot with these, I can’t get over how beautiful they look!

That’s cool! I’m excited to look for some great vintage washes!
Those really are gorgeous!! I adore the raw hems too. I’ve been considering grabbing a pair of vintage Levi’s but haven’t seen anything yet that grabbed my interest…I’ve been looking on eBay but I will check out UO, I didn’t know about their vintage shop! 🙂
