FRAME, the London-Los Angeles brand, just showed their brand new ‘Shades of Light’ collection for their Spring Summer 2015 New York Fashion Week presentation. This season see’s FRAME debut its transition from just denim to a lifestyle brand, introducing many more pieces including knitwear, leathers and dresses. I’ve always known FRAME as such a classic denim brand, making jeans with perfect fits and setting trends in the denim world, so it’s nice to see them branching out and creating garments to wear with their jeans.
The colour palette for the new Spring Summer 2014 collection is a melange of light and muted tones, think optic and Spring white, a spectrum of grey, blush pink and a play on blues from azure to indigo. I only have photos of the shades of light collection though, which is so fresh! I think it looks truly crisp and sterile, in a good way!
The brands silhouettes have a hint of influence from the 70’s too, the decade that denim became chic. FRAME’s Design Director Nico Peyrache and the team really created some gorgeous styles and shapes. Nautical stripes feature on linen tops and tees, while there’s billowing floor-length, shirt dresses in silk. The brand has also designed some playful high and low tails, reminiscent of a concert pianist. Even their famous jumpsuit has been re-designed. Its flattering high cut waistline, which elongates your legs, is now accentuated by FRAME’s new high-shine gold hardware, which is gorgeous! You will also find some other takes on the jumpsuit, coming in an apron dress, skinny de Jeanne and flare cut pant. I think the whole collection is definitely chic, wearable and minimalist. What do you think?
For those of you who may not be familiar with FRAME, the brand was launched in November 2012 by Jens Grede and Erik Torstensson; founders of the Saturday Group. Their chic and minimal approach to fashion essentials have won them devotees from models Cara Delevingne, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Lara Stone and Alessandra Ambrosio to other celebs such as Sienna Miller, Rihanna and Beyonce.
I’ve seen so many famous ladies in their own FRAME jeans and I definitely know why! I recently got a pair of their Skinny de Jeanne and they are the most flattering classic jeans I have tried. The cut of them and the positioning of the pockets is perfect! I will be reviewing them soon for you here on The Jeans Blog. In the meantime, the FRAME collection is available from 400 stores around the world as well as online at stores like Shopbop! You should definitely check it out!
