Katie Holmes gave a big smile to the photographers while leaving Mastro’s restaurant after having dinner with some friends in Los Angeles, California. We don’t see Katie very much here in our celebs in denim section of The Jeans Blog and that’s a shame as she used to be spotted frequently, in lots of denim. I think she’s made up for that with this outfit though, don’t you?
For her evening out, Katie wore a double denim outfit, pairing together a beautifully washed straight leg jean with a mid blue chambray blouse, finished off with some tan sandals and sunglasses. What a chic and easy going outfit for dinner, I think she paired this perfectly well.
When it comes to wondering how to wear double denim, there’s been so many variations of it now that I don’t think there are any set rules anymore. Katie proves that by matching two similar blues together, one washed and one more subtle, and it still works without anything breaking it up in the middle. We recently just spotted Zac Efron in double white denim as well, and he was rocking that, so wear your denim however you please! It seems the trend is now more about the washes being similar to each other in colour rather than completely different. If you have the confidence to pull that off, do it! What’s your opinion on it?
