Denim Street Style From New York Fashion Week SS18

Fashion Month is in full swing! New York has come and gone, London is drawing to a close, and it will very soon be time for Milan, then the finale of Paris. I’ve been watching some of the shows and was highly anticipating Burberry as it’s one of my favourites every season, however I was left completely disappointed and dumbfounded by the designs that Christopher Bailey showcased. I have no words for just how terrible it was, and that’s coming from me as a Burberry fan.

However, street style is always writhe during Fashion Week, and one thing we tend to see a lot of is denim! Styled in many different ways and usually avoiding skinny jeans. I’m rounding up the denim from each city and sharing the looks with you in separate posts, so it’s no surprise that up first is New York Fashion Week and the SS18 denim street style! Denim skirts, loose jeans, denim jackets, double denim, and even corduroy was huge on the ladies.

As I am a huge skinny jeans advocate as I like my denim classic and wearable, I’m not completely sure how I feel about the lack of them here. There’s something about the skinny jean that high fashion just doesn’t like and I think it’s because the style has become so mainstream now. A skinny jean is something you can find anywhere and it’s not so innovative anymore, which is why it’s snubbed so much in the Fashion Week circle. If you’re someone who follows the trends closely though and loves street style, you’re going to love these images! Check them out below!
